A START date for the construction of an Evesham haulage firm’s new Vale Park base has been announced which will pave the way for their current site to be redeveloped into a retail park.
As the Observer has previously reported, family-owned R Sinclair Transport, which was established by Ron Sinclair in 1947, had their plans approved by Wychavon District Council last year to move from Davies Road to the business park.
The firm has now revealed building work on the new 80,000 sq ft distribution warehouse, together with a large yard and lorry wash, will begin in January next year.
Company bosses hope the move will allow them to grow their operations and to help create more jobs.
Once R Sinclair is able to operate from their new base, this will pave the way for Helical Retail to redevelop the Davies Road site into a retail park- plans for that were approved back in July.
The brand new retail park will be made up of three units and Aldi and TK Maxx have already declared their intention to open brand new stores there. The occupier of the last remaining unit is yet to be announced.
Construction of the retail park is due to begin in October 2018 with an estimated completion date of August 2019.
