Singing a top total for Pershore causes

A TRIO of Pershore voluntary organisations will share a windfall of almost £600 from an a cappella singing concert held at the town’s Abbey.

The Vale Harmony chorus hosted the A Cappella Extravaganza concert which also featured the Great Western Chorus from Bristol, the nine times and current UK champions in barbershop singing.

From the proceeds, the choruses have donated £450 to Pershore Scouts, the Pathfinders (Sight Concern) and the Pershore Youth Swimming Club.

The Abbey has also given them £120 proceeds from refreshments.

Concert organiser Eddie Howell, a tenor with Vale Harmony, said: “It was a stunning success which not only entertained a full house at the Abbey but has also made some money for both clubs to help us continue encouraging a cappella singing .

Martin Baglow from the Great Western Chorus said: “It was a privilege for us to have been a part of this concert at the wonderful Pershore Abbey.

There’ll be another chance to see and hear the two choruses next year, again at Pershore Abbey.

It has been booked for December 3, 2017 when they’ll stage an A Cappella Christmas Concert.
