THE OWNERS of a family-run Pershore business have slammed yobs who ran a knife over eight cars causing damage totalling £15,000.

Tyres were also slashed in the incident which happened last Friday (August 26), between 10am and 1pm in Stoulton, near where Pershore Motor Group has its sports and prestige car showroom on Pershore Road.

The eight cars which were left damaged were parked in an empty lane near to the showroom, where staff often park.

Bosses claimed the extent of the damage will mean some of the cars being written off and have estimated they will face a five figure bill to repair the remaining vehicles.

In a statement on Facebook the car dealer, which employs nearly 30 local residents, said the raid had had a ‘huge effect’ on the family-firm.

“Staff are now nervous to come to work and park. This has destroyed trust and good intent we have built up over time in the village,” the statement said,

“The cars were parked in an empty lane, not blocking access or pavements and there was plenty of room to pass.

The firm is now offering a reward of £1,000 to anyone who may have any information on the incident.

Pershore Safer Neighbourhood have also released an appeal urging anyone who may have information on the incident to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 362s of August 26.
