Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 23rd Jul, 2017   0

THE BBC has done what it had threatened to do and now we know the new Doctor Who is a female.

It has caused much controversy with so many who say it should have stayed as a male character and because of the decision have declared they will not watch the programme in the future.

Others have welcomed the decision with great delight.

No doubt readers of this column will have their own thoughts on the matter.

In the last few days there has been a large political correctness debate over the roles of female and males in society, in family life and in sport.

Irrespective of what we think, we have to agree there is a difference between women and men and that will never change.

There are those who argue that the Bible is a male orientated book with the majority of the characters being men, but a closer inspection will show that there are also many wonderful and powerful women in there who are a tremendous inspiration to us all.

We live in a world that is constantly changing but we have to conclude that there are many major things that will never change, particularly in the question of gender.

Jesus Christ came to earth to show God’s love to us all, whether we are male or female and that love will never change because it reveals the true nature of a loving Heavenly Father.
