Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 11th May, 2020   0

FRIDAY should have been a Bank Holiday to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day, however with the current extreme circumstances there’s no dancing in the streets as there was then.

Seventy-five years ago there was joyful rejoicing all over the land because we had been delivered from the threat of a madman who wanted to rule the world with fear and military might.

No wonder there was such great merriment and joy throughout the country.

All through the years of the Second World War there must have been a longing for peace and safety once again and that response was seen in the announcement of the end of the war.

There will be much rejoicing when we reach the end of Covid-19 and we can get back to a resemblance of normality.

After the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ there was such disbelief but then enormous rejoicing because his followers realised what the full impact of this tremendous event meant to them and what it would mean to all the ages to come.

Over the past two thousand years that wonderful message of salvation through the risen Jesus Christ has brought much joy to millions who have accepted him into their lives.

This pandemic will end and there will be nationwide rejoicing so…….

Keep safe. Keep well.
