SEND parents urged to have their views on services

Evesham Editorial 13th Feb, 2020   0

VIEWS are being sought from parents and carers to help shape services for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

A survey has been co-produced by Families in Partnership and involving Worcestershire Children First and Worcestershire County Council to find out what parents and carers of children with SEND in Worcestershire think about the services available to them.

Coun Marcus Hart, cabinet member for Education and Skills, said: “We remain committed to working together with young people, parents, carers, partners and education providers to continue to improve the experiences for all children and young people with SEND.

“We have been working actively across education, health and care to improve services and we want parents and carers to be fully involved in shaping these services going forward so that they are effective and work for both the parents and the children. It is important that we hear what experiences are like for children and what has changed in Worcestershire.”

Sally Keane, chair of Families in Partnership, the Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum, said: “Families in Partnership are working with Worcestershire Children First and partners to improve services.

“To enable us to represent you we need to understand your experiences and views. If you could take time to complete the Parent Carer survey this will help us to do that.”

The survey closes at 5pm on Friday, February 28
