Have your say on health services

Evesham Editorial 14th Aug, 2019   0

PERSHORE’s MP Harriett Baldwin has urged town residents to have their say on the services and care delivered by the local county healthcare team.

The Care Quality Commission is inspecting the work of the Worcestershire NHS Health and Care Trust and a series of focus groups are being run to get feedback.

Health chiefs are keen to talk specifically with carers as part of the inspection process. The objective will be to hear about the care and support relatives experienced. It will be run as a group conversation with everyone getting the chance to speak if they so wish and all feedback will be anonymous.

Local people are able to comment directly to CQC and the next meeting will take place on Tuesday (August 13) between 12.30pm and 1.30pm in Meeting Room 1 at Kidderminster Health Centre.

The Health and Care Trust offer a range of services as well as mental heath support, managing the network of district nurses and runs the popular community hospitals.

“The Care Quality Commission is due to report on the progress made by the Acute Trust shortly and this is an opportunity for local people, and in particular, carers, to have their say on the way care is deliver and local services are run by the Health and Care Trust,” Mrs Baldwin said.

“I know from my own case work there are good stories to tell and it is important to share any positive feedback, but I have also seen instances where there are areas for improvement – particularly in the way mental health is delivered and the time is takes to get help.

“This is an important chance for local people to have their say and I hope they will take the time to get involved and share their views,” she added.
