The Range to open in Evesham in May

RETAIL giant The Range has finally confirmed it will be opening a new store in Evesham with the creation of 80 jobs.

The new store will take over the former Homebase site on the Four Pools Retail Park and is due to open its doors on Friday, May 20 from 9am.

More than 80 part-time and full-time jobs will be created, ranging from store and department managers to warehouse workers and administrators.

The Evesham store, which will be the company’s 120th across the UK, will include an extensive outdoor garden centre and DIY, arts and crafts, furniture and homeware departments.

The Observer first reported back in December about rumours surrounding The Range coming to the town following the closure of Homebase. Job adverts in February then appeared to confirm a store would be opening before company bosses finally confirmed the news today (Thursday).

Chris Dawson, owner of The Range, said: “The new store in Evesham will be our 120th store across the UK.

“It comes at an exciting time of expansion for the company with plans for many other new stores to open in 2016.

“The continued success of The Range is down to the staff we employ and we look forward to inviting potential employees to join the team”.
