THE BODY of a man found in Scotland has been confirmed as Royal Navy sailor Josh Gayton from Evesham.
An appeal to find Mr Gayton was launched after the 21-year-old went missing following a night out.
He then failed to report for duty at the Faslane naval base in Helensburgh yesterday.
A fundraising page to generate funds to pay for Josh’s funeral has been launched.
A target of £2,500 was set and, in just over 24 hours, more than £11,500 has been generated.

Police Scotland have confirmed to the Observer that a body recovered from the water off Helensburgh on Sunday had been formally identified as Mr Gayton.
Ch Insp Allan Dickson said: “Our thoughts remain with Josh’s family at what is a very difficult time for them and they have asked for privacy.
“We would like to thank everyone who responded to our appeal and to partner agencies who helped search for Josh after he was reported missing, including assistance from the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines and Ministry of Defence Police.”
