Workies in pole position after Sunday League resumes

EVESHAM WMC took the lead in the Evesham & District Sunday League Division One title race as action resumed after lockdown.

The Workies enjoyed a 3-1 victory over Bretforton Old Boys as Elliott Grady (2) and James Schembri scored for the hosts and Ryan Reeves netted for Old Boys.

Inkberrow maintained their title push with a 5-0 win at Alderton through goals from Greg Guy (2), Lewis Sheen, Kieron Sheen and Bill Coughlin.

Offenham Rovers defeated New Inn Pershore 4-1 with goals from JD Cole, Jake Hall, Ben Higgins and Reagan Martin.




In Division Two, Fladbury maintained their excellent season with a 3-1 victory at Ashton 88 in which Cameron Dickenson (2) and Will Green scored, with Will Stevens on target for Ashton.

Stour Excelsior travelled to Stratford HGC and returned with the points after a 4-2 success in which Josh Gibbs (2), Richard Moss and Edward Casswell scored for the Shipston side.


Broadway Athletic secured a 2-1 success at Harvington Harriers through goals from Daniel Moore and Mark Jeffs which got the better of Christian Lewis’ strike for Harriers.

Goals from Adam Baker, Jack Dowdeswell and Ollie Brothwood helped Drakes Broughton Rangers to a 3-1 win at TDMS Evesham, for whom Jack Howard Nailor scored.

Bredon convincingly won their Division Three local derby 7-1 at Tewkesbury Athletic with goals from Dan McGuigan (4), Matt Tarling (2) and Ben Hayward.

Titans enjoyed a club record 7-2 win against Bengeworth as James Elwell (4), Kane Dyson, George Mallory and Matt Deakin did the damage, with Chris Fletcher and Adam Beasley scoring for the visitors.

Zinzan Hancox (2) and Ryan Dixon scored for Fortis in their 3-1 win over Ashton 88 Reserves, whilst Vale United recorded an impressive 6-3 win at Asum Athletic through goals from Chris Earle (3), Paul Law, Keiren White and Matt O’Donavan. Asum’s goals came from Aiden Booth (2) and Rob Burford.

Worcestershire FA postponed the Sunday Junior Cup matches and will reschedule.
