Workies beginning to find their rhythm

Evesham Editorial 13th Nov, 2017   0

EVESHAM WMC are finally finding some form after an indifferent start to the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League season and Elliott Grady (3) and Jordan Izod were on target in their 4-3 Division One home win over New Inn Pershore, for whom Ward, Worrell and Rushden scored.

Bretforton Old Boys had to come from behind to win 2-1 at Stour Excelsior and go top of Division One. Shurmer gave Stour the lead before a Phil Davies brace turned the game around.

Walker (2) and Emblem were on target for Inkberrow in their 4-1 victory at Tewkesbury Town, for whom Tarling scored.

Broadway United won 3-0 at Offenham Rovers to progress into the second round of the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup.

In Division Two, Cropthorne hit six without reply against visitors Sun Inn through Stephens (2), John Boother, Tom Boother, Williams and Brixey, whilst in Division Three Stratford HGC went goal crazy as they triumphed 12-0 at home to Fairfield Titans through Dixon (4), Hawkins (3), Smith (3), Watkin and Dolce.

In the Evesham Hospital Minor Cup first round, Broadway United Reserves comfortably won 8-1 at Bredon, Alderton won 5-2 at Ambi Allsports and Bretforton Old Boys Reserves accounted for visitors Charlton Fladbury 3-1.

In the second round matches, Alcester Town dispatched of hosts Bengeworth 8-0, Pebworth recorded an excellent 7-3 win at TDMS Evesham, Badsey Recreation took the local bragging rights over hosts Fortis with a 2-0 success, TDMS Harvington won 2-0 at Ashton 88 and Dragons defeated neighbours and hosts Strawberry Field United 2-1.
