RELENTLESS gusty winds made life extremely difficult for competitors but could not stop Jill Cleary from winning Evesham Golf Club ladies’ All Comers Charity Trophy.
The trophy, originally donated by Lila Bailey, is contested annually and all money goes to the captain’s charity, which this year is the Acquired Brain Injuries Trust.
Bits of trees flew in all directions and golf balls oscillated on the greens during Tuesday’s dramatic event, which attracted 19 golfers, the best of whom was Cleary with 38 points.
