SALLY DEAKIN felt the love on Valentine’s Day to win the latest competition for Evesham GC Ladies.
The Four Clubs and A Putter Competition was played over 12 holes with the players choosing four clubs and a putter hoping to post a respectable score.
Maybe it was the bitter cold weather or just the incorrect selection of clubs but only a few recorded some very excellent scores.
The Lady Captain Eunice Allen had decided to mark this ‘special day’ by presenting Deakin, who scored 27 stableford points, and Lesley Kewley, who trailed well behind with 23 points, with an item marked with red hearts printed on them.
Meanwhile, Evesham Ladies’ Joan Hunt and Mel Evans played their first round of the Daily Mail Foursomes national competition against The Worcestershire Golf Club, Malvern, on Monday when they secured an away win.
