PERSHORE Town piled on the misery for Studley as they secured a 2-1 Midland League Division One victory at the Beehive on Saturday.
It was a scrappy match which Quentin Townsend’s men could have won by a more handsome margin had it not been for the heroics of former Pershore keeper, Shaun Edwards who made numerous good saves, denying Town’s Jamie Clarke on several occasions.
Pershore took the lead after 31 minutes when a ball into the box was flicked on and Edwards was unable to hold it, allowing Shaun Griffiths to bundle home from close range.
Sean Cooke increased the lead after 75 minutes with a fierce shot from just inside the box having been put through by Ollie Casey.
Former Pershore player Danny Ludlow reduced the hosts’ deficit with a couple of minutes remaining with a free kick that took a slight deflection before going in off the post.
Pershore, in 14th place, entertain mid-table Heath Hayes at the King George V Stadium on Saturday before hosting league rivals Cadbury Athletic in the Polymac Packaging League Cup on Tuesday.
