PERSHORE sit just 15 points adrift of new Birmingham League Division Two leaders Penkridge despite slipping to eighth place as a result of Saturday’s seven-wicket defeat at the Staffordshire side.
The Plums’ second loss of the campaign arrived as a result of a disappointing batting performance in which only opener Liam Ridings (36) and Stephen Miles (41) made double figures in a total of 110 all out off 37.2 overs. Aqab Ahmed took 5-47 and Aatif Ali 4-39.
The home side were reduced to 6-2 in reply but an unbeaten 64 from Rana Hassan guided Penkridge to their target in just the 23rd over.
Pershore host Sutton Coldfield on Saturday.
