Swain sets a new club record

EVESHAM Jubilee Angling Society members travelled to Tunnel Barn Farm on Sunday fishing New pool for the Annual Cup and good weights were expected.

The venue did not disappoint as a total of 1,891lb of fish were caught which averaged 70lb per angler.

John Swain fished an excellent match that set a new club match record of 179lb 8oz, catching swallow on top two. Second place went to Rob Butcher with 101lb 6oz and third was Alan Gardner with 97lb.

Section winners were Steve Foster 91lb 14oz, Tim Hunt 87lb 12oz, Tony Hemming 86lb 12oz, Mark Birbeck 85lb 12oz and Dave Bowditch 73lb 2oz.

After the match members enjoyed an evening meal and presentation of prizes before returning home.

On Sunday members travel to the Riflemans stretch of the Droitwich Canal. Draw at 8.30am.
