THE BROADWAY Golf Club Championships were played in glorious sunshine and on a course which provided perfect playing conditions and there was never any doubting the final outcome as Kieran Sutton strode to victory and showed himself as a true champion.
The event was played over two days and Sutton came in with a stunning 67 gross on both days (134 total), winning both the gross Championship title and the Peter Ward Putter award for the best nett.
Richard Tate and Jamie Andrew fought hard for second place with an excellent 142 gross and it was Tate who finished runner-up on countback.
Meanwhile, 43 of Broadway’s ladies were competing in the Golf Foundation Brooch Stableford, in which Sue Jones was the overall winner with a well earned 33 points.
Chris Moulder and Camilla Haines took second and third places respectively on countback.
A total of £100 was raised on the day and will be donated to the HSBC Grass Roots Charity for young golfers.
The ladies were busy playing their Club Championships this week.
