THE JUNIOR Medal contest featured the cream of the youth talent at Broadway Golf Club and was won by Sonny Nangle with an impressive nett 70.
Hot on Nangle’s tail was Ryan Wright who brought in an excellent 71 nett to seal second place, ahead of Jackson Wojahn-Parker who was third with 74 and Joe Golding in fourth with 75.
The following day it was the turn of the men as 86 competitors stepped out to play in the Broadway Bogey.
The weather was almost a repeat of the previous day with a cold breeze from the start but, with the course playing superbly, conditions were ideal for the par competition.
A full field turned out to compete in the first official competition of the season and Jamie Thomas was victorious with a score of 6 up.
Dan Lamb claimed second place, coming in an excellent 5 up, ahead of Dave Goodwin and Ollie Storrer who both equalled the impressive score but finished third and fourth respectively on countback.
