CHAIRMAN Alan Boyes reflected on a highly successful year for Pershore Duplicate Bridge Club at the AGM.
The Learn to Play Bridge in a Weekend course featured 16 players totally new to bridge learn the basics of the game and most have gone on to become full members of the club.
The course will be run again in early 2020 and details are available at www.bridgewebs.com/pershore.
Table numbers had increased throughout the year and trophies were presented to prize-winners as follows: Championship Pairs Cup – Liz Boyes and Roger Wady; Lawrie Hunt Cup – Dorrie and Alf Manders; Singles Challenge – Lyndsey Parsons; Pairs Challenge – Sheena Gibbons (absent) and Chris Kelly; Slammer of the Year – Chris Davies.
A proposal for the club to make Alan Boyes a life member in recognition of his service and contribution for almost 20 years was unanimously carried.
