THE OVERALL competition winner with a magnificent 68 nett was Matt Sollis as 88 players participated in the men’s Division One and Two Medals at Broadway Golf Club at the weekend.
With the course playing superbly, the results were impressive, as Sollis also achieved lowest gross on the day with 73.
Clear winner of Division One was Mike Humpston with an excellent 69 nett, leaving Paul Taylor to take second with 71.
In Division Two, Mark Lee took first place with an impressive 70 nett on countback from second placed Mike Larkin.
Meanwhile, the ladies were out in force to play in their Stableford and Millennium Veterans Trophy.
Whilst the course continued to play well, there was a tricky wind throughout the morning, making scoring a challenge.
Unperturbed, Wendy Hicks became overall winner on the day with an outstanding 35 points.
The Silver Division winner was Frances Friend with a well deserved 33 points, leaving Annabelle Carter to take second place with 31.
In the Bronze Division, Juliet Enderby earned a commendable first place with 30 points and Janet Sandalls took second with 29.
The six best cards of those ladies eligible will now be sent to Gloucestershire Veterans for qualification at County Knockout.
