THINGS did not go entirely to plan at the Broadway Golf Club ladies’ captain versus vice-captain challenge, but an enjoyable afternoon was enjoyed nonetheless.
Ladies’ captain Maggie McDivitt and vice-captain Irene Hawkes had planned to host the annual contest in which traditionally ladies compete in a nine-hole Betterball Matchplay contest, representing either the captain’s or the vice-captain’s team.
All then retire to the clubhouse to be treated to tea and delicious cakes provided by the ladies committee.
Unfortunately, as ladies began to arrive, so did the snow and the pairs competition had to be postponed, but all were still delighted to enjoy the fabulous array of cakes and very welcome hot drinks.
