EVESHAM Jubilee Angling Society members met at the Evesham & District Angling Association’s Common Road stretch of the River Avon on Sunday to contest the Last Chance Cup.
The river looked in fine condition and roach and skimmers were caught all along the stretch.
Doug Smith on peg 12 won the cup with 12lb of roach and skimmers caught on the pole and feeder.
Alan Gardner on peg 8 was runner-up, again with roach and skimmers for 11lb. Bob Evans on peg 11 was third with 5lb 10oz and section winners were Billy Pitman (peg 10, 3lb 8oz) and Andy Mitchell (peg 16, 4lb 14oz).
