THE EVESHAM Golf Club seniors’ Christmas lunch was the ideal occasion for outgoing senior section captain Ian Wood to present a cheque for £2,000 to Martin Blackaller from the captain’s charity, Acorns.
The money was raised by the senior section throughout the past year on behalf of the children’s hospice.
Thanking the seniors for their generous donation, Martin explained how the money would be used to support children with life-limiting conditions, together with their families and carers.
Martin also explained how the charity was heavily reliant on donations, needing to raise £7m to fund a £10m budget. The remainder of the money comes from Government grants.
