ROWING - Evesham Rowing Club round of summer season with success at Gloucester and Ross

EVESHAM Rowing Club rounded off the summer season with successful outings at Gloucester and Ross Regatta’s.

The club secured a number of impressive wins across their junior, senior and masters squads.

Evesham’s junior squad celebrated a flood of victories at Gloucester Regatta.

Tommy and Jacob won the J13 2x event, Johnny won the J14 1x race, Poppy and Lucy triumphed in the WJ14 2x and the J18 8+ of Tom, Archie, Fred, Rupert, Vivek, Ewan, Jackson and Toby, with Freddie at cox, also tasted success.

The club’s junior crews also claimed wins at the Ross Regatta.

Tommy and Jacob took top spot again in the J13 2x while Henry in the J15 1x, Johnny in the J14 1x and Stan in the J13 1x claimed a hat-trick of single scull victories.




And Eva and Darcey won the WJ15 2x event while Henry won the J15 1x race and Alex won the J18 1x event.

The club’s masters athletes also ended the season with a flourish.


At Gloucester, Caroline and Amanda won the WMas C/D 2x with Amanda, Caroline, Rachel and Jane winning the WMasD 4x race.

And Jane, Pippa, Tessa and Jill won the WMasD/E 4x and Debz the WMasD 1x race at Ross.

Also at Ross, the Evesham Mas4+ crew of Simon, Arthur, Tim, Mark, with Freddie at cox, capped off an undefeated season.

The club’s senior rowers dominated proceedings at Gloucester with emphatic wins in the Open 8+ race and Open 4+ event as Jamie, Josh, Damon, Tom, Eddie, Joe, Ben and Alex all triumphed.

And Alex, Damon, Joe, Tom, Eddie, Ben and Noah, with Jess at coxswain, returned to Ross to win the Op4x and Op4+ events.

Evesham captain, Simon North, said: “Evesham Rowing Club really is a club to be proud of and I want to thank everyone who has raced, towed, coached, supported and cheered the team over the successful Summer Regatta season.

“Our team’s energy, dedication and camaraderie make this club what it is.

“Evesham rows hard, races fair and we look after each other too.

“We continue to build a reputation not just for winning, but for being a fun and inclusive club too.

“We’re looking forward pulling together for what is shaping up to be a truly exciting head season ahead of us.”
