EVESHAM Rowing Club took part in the prestigious British Masters Championships, the Bridgnorth Regatta and West Midlands Recreational League.
The British Masters Championships took place at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.
And Evesham’s women’s eight finished third in the over-50 category under the guidance of cox David Pollard.
The crew included Karen Williams, Louise Woodward, Sia Bush, Rachel Havill, Tessa Bannister, Jill Ham, Tracy Goldstraw, and Carol Lovelock.
And the double scull pairing of Rich Evans and Rob Buckley competed in the 60 to 65 age category heats.
The duo just missed out on a place in the final in a fiercely competitive heat.
Evesham’s women’s double scull of Amanda Baker and Caroline Kelley finished fifth in the over-36 final.
And the duo then teamed up with a couple of rowers from Gloucester to form an over-50 quad scull.
The foursome powered to a third-place finish as the quad just missed out on second place in a closely-contested race.
And Baker and Kelley joined forced with Gloucester again to compete in the 55 to 60 age category composite coxed four where they finished fifth.
Elsewhere, Evesham’s masters men’s four of Simon Edwards, Tim Nelson, Mark Repton, and Arthur Angus stormed to victory in Bridgnorth in the coxed four event.
The same rowers teamed up with Pengwern Boat Club for the open eights event competing against university crews.
However, the crew used their experience to finish third behind two quick crews from Warwick.
Evesham’s development and recreational squad also took to the water in the West Midlands Recreational League.
The ‘Slide Like You Mean It’ crew made up of Roger Woollen, Chris Pack, Colin Franks, and Robert Morris glided through their round robin heat only to suffer a narrow defeat in the final.
Evesham men’s captain, Simon North said: “To have crews flying the Evesham flag at not one, not two, but three events across the country shows the strength and breadth of our club.
“I would like share a huge shout out and thank you to all our coaches and towing volunteers, without whom none of this would have been possible.
“They’re the real engine room behind these results.”
