Robins to entertain Harriers in Worcestershire Senior Cup semi

EVESHAM United host Kidderminster Harriers at the Jubilee Stadium in the Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final on Thursday (7.45pm).

Harriers booked their place in the last four with a 1-0 victory over Stourbridge on Monday and the winners will face Redditch United in the final at Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday (3pm).

ON TUESDAY the Robins produced a much-improved display to hold National North visitors Gloucester City to a 1-1 draw at the Jubilee Stadium.

New striker Paul Fahy gave the hosts a second minute lead before Jean-Yves Koue Niate levelled for the Tigers three minutes before the break.

In the second half United’s Kevin Sawyer made a smart stop to deny Luke Hopper before City’s Joe Parker dragged a shot wide when well placed.

Evesham were still without several key players, including holidaying forwards Adam Mann and Lance Smith, but performed at a far higher standard than in Saturday’s 7-3 loss at home to Stratford Town.

United boss Paul Collicutt said: “We were at the races on Tuesday and gave a good account of ourselves.

“It was important we got the Stratford result out of our system quickly and there were positives all over the park, particularly the way Paul Fahy took his goal.

“Despite still being without numerous key players, we played some decent football against a good side.”.
