MICKLETON Rangers clinched promotion back to Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division One with a convincing 5-0 win at Cropthorne as Sexton (2), Tye, Mills and Beach scored the goals.

Long-time leaders Alderton dropped two points as they were held 2-2 at New Inn Pershore. Griffin and Green scored for New Inn and Davis and Baker netted for second placed Alderton.

Tewkesbury Town, with games in hand, closed the gap on Alderton with a huge 8-1 win over Ecosamba in which Tarling and Keen both netted twice for Town.

Badsey Recreation secured their Division Two status with a 2-1 victory over Broadway United Reserves thanks to a Banning double.

Broadway, who have now finished their season, must hope Ecosamba do not gain five points in their remaining four matches in order to avoid relegation.

Dickenson and Andy Clements both scored twice for mid-table Charlton Old Boys in their 5-2 win over Evesham United Sunday.

It is a three-horse race for promotion in Division Three. Leaders Quinton took the local honours against rivals Stratford United as Tom Drinkwater, James Drinkwater, Morse and Lewis scored for Quinton and, although Stratford netted through Davis and Rapson, it was not enough as they lost 4-2.

Second placed Sun Inn hit six without reply at Avon Titans as Watts (2), Major, Parry and Wood got amongst the goals.

Promotion-chasers Dragons in third place enjoyed a convincing 6-1 win over Bengeworth thanks to goals from Jennings (2), Wilsdon, Wicks, Grady and Stride.

Smith and Venditto scored for Stour Excelsior Reserves in a 2-0 win against Ambi Allsports, whilst Pebworth overcame struggles Fortis 3-2 with goals from Smith, Sprigg and Ballard. Hancox bagged a brace for Fortis.

Broadway United reached the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup final with a narrow 2-1 win over Harvington in which Jason Horsburgh and Burtenshaw scored for Broadway and Wallace netted for Harvington.

Broadway are now the only team who can deny Bretforton Old Boys the Division One title after Old Boys hammered Bear 11-0 thanks to goals came from Gayton (3), Richardson (2), Brown (2), Tustin, Brain, Edgehill and Baird.

Inkberrow won 5-0 at Bredon with goals from Coughlin (3), Hughes and Jordan, whilst Stour Excelsior recorded a 2-0 win at Jackson Fairfield.
