LEADERS Offenham Rovers took another step towards promotion from Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Two by thumping fourth placed hosts Sun Inn 12-2.

Rovers, in their first season since reforming, were in rampant mood as Sean Brain scored six goals and Trinder (2), Gorin, Smith, Syzmanski and Burrows also netted. Sun Inn scored through Roberts and Davies.

Bredon came from behind to record only their second win of the season as they triumphed 5-2 at home to Charlton Old Boys.

Hagley (3), Shepherd and Huggins scored for Bredon and Clements and Carley netted for Old Boys.

Cropthorne comfortably won 6-1 at Dragons through goals from Barton, Bennett, Crenan, Boother, Taylor and Letteresse. Sinden was on the mark for the hosts.

Two goals in the last five minutes earned Alderton a 4-2 win at Quinton. Brocklehurst and Pearson scored for the home team but Alderton prevailed thanks to Greaves’ hat-trick and Moss’ goal.

Fortis stayed top of Division Three with a 5-1 victory at Avon Titans in which Paul (2), Hancox, Wallace and Rainey scored for the victors and Matthews did likewise for the hosts.

Broadway United Reserves remain second – two points behind with three games in hand – after Steele (2), Clark and Cooper led them to a 4-2 home victory over Stour Excelsior Reserves, for whom Smith and Gregg scored.

Stratford United moved into third with a 4-3 victory at previous occupants Bretforton Old Boys Reserves. Dickson, Smith, Spilsbury and an own goal enabled the visitors to prevail as goals from Unwin, Miles and Stride proved in vain.

Cope and Begley scored first half goals to lead Ashton 88 to a 2-0 home win against TDMS, whilst Hincks’ treble and Ashby’s goal inspired Evesham United Sunday to a 4-2 victory over Bengeworth for whom Palmer and Burford netted.

Ambi Allsports won 5-2 at Pebworth through goals from Bullock (2), Aidan Booth (2) and Vinnie Booth, whilst Badger and Smaylen struck for Allsports.

Broadway United moved to the top of Division One with a 5-0 victory at Cider Mill in which Jeffs, Rogers, Evans, Aspey and Burtenshaw scored.

Evesham WMC’s title hopes were dented with a 5-0 defeat at Stour Excelsior for whom Godson (2), Harris, Pratt and Coles struck.

Pinvin United comfortably defeated basement club and visitors Tewkesbury Town 5-1 through goals from Bellamy (3), Lamb and Carter. Pepperell netted for Town.

It was a disappointing day for Evesham sides in the WFA County Cups as both representatives in the Junior Cup were beaten.

Bretforton Old Boys and Inkberrow lost 4-2 and 7-0 at FC Highgate United and Redman respectively in the quarter-finals.

In the Sunday Minor Cup quarter-finals, Harvington reached the last four with a 6-1 victory at Hallow Sunday Reserves.

However, Badsey Recreation lost 4-2 at home to Bromsgrove Corinthians and New Inn Pershore were beaten 4-0 by visitors Mostyn Rangers Reserves.
