EVESHAM racer Olly Turner maintained his record of achieving a podium at every venue the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship has visited this season.
The championship reached the halfway point of the campaign with rounds five and six at Snetterton and Turner took a second and fifth place to leave him fourth in the overall standings.
Turner has been on the podium at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park and Rockingham Motor Speedway and, driving the Sonic Equipment yellow Fiesta ST, was determined to go one better than a third place at the Norfolk track where he had his first podium as a rookie in 2017.
Relishing the conditions and the layout, race one proved to be memorable.
Turner, supported by Rivers Fitness and Power Maxed, qualified back in fifth, but a brilliant start propelled him into third place by the second corner and then into second place.
From then the Jam Sport team driver held off the competition. testament to his fitness, producing accurate and fast laps on diminishing tyres and in sweltering conditions to secure the second place trophy, much to the delight of family and the team.
Race two was disappointing, having been run wide at Murrays. However, a determined Turner never took his foot off the gas and pushed on. Hanging on the back of the cars in front, he finished in fifth place.
Currently lying 4th in the very close championship standings, Turner is more focused than now on continuing to develop the car and finishing strongly in every race, with the next meeting at Castle Combe on August 11-12.
