IN THE Worcestershire League Premier Division, Pershore wrapped up a sensational nine-wicket triumph over Worcester in just seven overs.
Calamitous Worcester could only manage 51 runs before being skittled out in the 25th over at Defford Road – much in part to Adnan Wahid’s 5-17 plus two wickets apiece for Paddy Thompson and Stephen Miles – leaving the hosts licking their lips in anticipation of a speedy victory.
That proved the case, as the Plums lost just one wicket in Liam Ridings (11), who had shared in an opening stand of 43 runs alongside Imran Wahid (30), to sweep their way to a tenth win this campaign.
Now sitting third in the standings, Pershore head to out-of-form Bromyard, sixth, on Saturday.
