THERE was glory for Evesham Jubilee Angling Society member Ian Pitman when 32 anglers fished a charity Midlands Air Ambulance match on the Jubilee and Withies pools on Saturday.
Held in association with Worcester Angling Centre, the Stanley family and Evesham Jubilee, members were also fishing for the Keith Stanley Memorial Silver Salver and the Worcester Angling Centre Charity Cup was also presented to the overall winner.
Pitman won the match from Jubilee 16, weighing in 52lb 6oz to win both trophies on offer, whilst the top weight on the Withies pool was Doug Smith on W27 with 25lb 14oz.
Section winners were Steve Foster (J19, 40lb 5oz), Gary Seadon (J8, 29lb 10oz), Janice Smith (J6, 24lb 6oz), John Cox (W22, 23lb 3oz), John Swain (W4, 20lb 7oz) and Rick Liddell (J23, 19lb 13oz).
After the match a barbecue and raffle followed where anglers and friends enjoyed the presentation of the prizes. More than £600 was raised for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
