AN EXCELLENT £800 was raised for charity when Pershore Tennis Centre staged its fifth annual fund-raiser in aid of Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH).
Forty ladies from numerous clubs dressed in pink to support the charity, which raises funds for the women and men of Worcestershire and their breast care needs.
The aims are for WBUH to provide – at no cost to those in need – emotional, physical and practical support through the invaluable services of Breast Cancer Haven, which offers a programme of therapies including counselling, hypnotherapy, dietary advice, acupuncture and lymphedema massage.
Pershore Tennis Centre tournament director Jane Warner said: “It’s wonderful to see our annual event going from strength to strength and supporting this amazing local charity.
“I’m thrilled we brought together 40 ladies from around the county and further afield, gathering to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity.”
Fiona Charny, charity chairman and trustee, added: “We are absolutely delighted with the continued support of Pershore Tennis Centre’s ladies.
“The annual tournament is an event we look forward to attending each year. It is wonderful to see everyone come together in their pink tennis clothes and to help raise funds for us as the local breast cancer charity.”
