PERSHORE’S Caoimhe Guppy and Bethany Pye celebrated winning two titles in the Knight Frank Malvern Open, a Lawn Tennis Association Grade 3 ranking tournament.

Attracting 333 entries from players across 22 counties, events were held across all age groups from 9U through to Men’s and Ladies Open. A total of 375 matches were played against the stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills across 15 courts at the Manor Park Club and nearby Malvern St James.

Guppy and Pye were impressive in winning both the 14U and 12U girls doubles crowns. In the U14s event, they beat Gracie Hurley (Swansea) and Sophia Jenkins Howard (David Lloyd Club Bromsgrove) in the final of the 14U, and overcame Alisha Tejrar (Oxstalls Sports Park) and Josie Ward in the 12U final.

Pershore’s Jack Bulbulia and Alfie Mills were beaten finalists in the boys’ 10U doubles event and Pershore’s Lucie Palmer teamed up with Manor Park Malvern’s Sally Lewin as they finished runners-up in the 18U girls’ event.
