PERSHORE Town will kick-off the newly-formed Midland Football League Division One campaign with a trip to Atherstone Town on Saturday (3pm).
Two home fixtures then follow as Tuesday (7.45pm) brings the visit of Pilkington before Heather St John’s visit the Winstanley & Co King George V Stadium on Saturday, August 9 (3pm).
MEANWHILE, the Pershore Hospital Cup AGM was held on July 20 at Pershore Town FC and the secretary Alan Barnett read out his report stating that the competition had once again been successful and the idea of playing both the Junior and Minor Cup finals on the same day had proved fruitful.
The treasurer Peter Wonfor advised the committee that £1,300 had been raised and cheques would be sent to various local charities, before Peter then announced he was stepping down as treasurer after many years of loyal service.
He was presented with an inscribed salver by president Richard Williams.
The following officers were elected: President – Richard Williams; Chairman – Terry Conway; Vice-Chairman – M Dalley; Secretary/Treasurer – Alan Barnett; Rest of committee – P Wonfor, L Cowley.
Entry forms for this season’s competition must be returned before August 31.
