A CHILLY morning was not enough to stop Pershore High School’s year eights turning up the heat in this year’s District Cross Country Championships.
All students who represented the school played a huge part in a successful morning as four Pershore High athletes finished in the top ten across the boys’ and girls’ year eight category.
Outstanding performances included Lydia Cooper and Katherine Burgess who finished second and third in the girls’ race.
Pershore High PE teacher James Layton-Hill would like to mention the positive spirit the students brought to the event in the form of cheering each other on, supporting each other before and after the races and even helping injured athletes over the finish line when they were struggling.
