PERSHORE’S 146-run victory at Wombourne on Saturday lifted them to the top of Birmingham League Division Two.
The Plums sit joint top of the pile with Sutton Coldfield following their third successive win and will bid to maintain their momentum when they host Fordhouses on Saturday.
Pershore made 250 all out off their 50 overs. Liam Ridings (57) and Chris Ridings (46) got the visitors off to a solid start before a late blast from teenager George Kirby, who smashed 45 not out off only 24 balls batting at nine, helped the Plums post a tough target.
Wombourne were then blown away by some quality seam bowling from Luke Dalley (6-28 off eight overs) as he removed six of the top seven batsmen and the hosts were bowled out for just 104 in the 31st over.
