PERSHORE Ladies enjoyed a fine start to the campaign with this away victory on Saturday.

Kat Clasen gave Pershore an early lead when she converted from a short corner.

The visitors continued to press high, giving Bromsgrove limited opportunities to break.

Player of the match Nicki Sheppard broke up play several times, giving Pershore the chance to carry the ball forward, but they were frustrated in their bid to add further goals as several chances were narrowly missed.

Good play from newcomers Clasen and Rosie Hickey, supported by Zoe Nicholson and captain Emily Capaldi, saw Bromsgrove chances blocked, although a one-on-one from a Bromsgrove corner saw a close escape when keeper Lucy Jeffs saved well.

As Pershore tired, Bromsgrove fought hard in the second half, but a second short corner conversion from Mary Small saw Pershore secure victory.
