Pershore girls are district athletics queens

PERSHORE High School’s year eight girls team put the opposition to the sword to win the district athletics event earlier this month.

Students from Pershore travelled to Cheltenham to take part in the Annual District Athletics Meet and in glorious sunshine the athletes put the skills they had developed in lessons and extra-curricular clubs into a competitive meet against the SWSSA Middle Schools to great success.

The following students came first or second in their events, meaning they qualify for the Minor County Championships later on in the year – Reece Molineaux, Oli Heeks, Megan Oswell, Charlotte Albert, Jacob Harding, Alex Smith and Matthew Skerrett. A big well done to all the students who took part.

The Pershore High year eight boys also impressed, as they finished second, finishing just three points behind winners Bredon Hill Middle School.
