Pershore coach helps take disability tennis to next level

Evesham Editorial 14th Nov, 2019   0

PERSHORE Tennis Centre’s award-winning head coach is taking his programme to the next level with the introduction of an exciting new schedule of opportunities for players with learning disabilities.

Steve Bauer and the coaching team already run weekly classes to encourage wheelchair users and players with Down Syndrome and visual impairment to enjoy tennis and they are continuing to grow their programme with the introduction of an exciting new schedule of opportunities for players with learning disabilities.

Bauer was recently handed the Disability Programme of the Year award for 2019 at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Lawn Tennis Association’s annual county awards for his successes on court and he is focused on increasing their opportunities for all.

He said: “We’re a very open club and encourage everybody to take up lessons whatever their ability. We pride ourselves on giving everyone a top class tennis experience and continue to introduce new opportunities for all of our players.”
