THE 41ST WYCHAVON Parish Games came to an end last Thursday evening when the winners and runners-up in each event were presented with their trophies at the presentation evening at Bretforton Sports Club.
Attended by representatives of the 29 parishes taking part, along with event sponsors, organisers and committee members, this was a very successful evening.
The Small Parishes award went to Wick, while the Richard Preece Cup for the highest-placed medium parish went to Sedgeberrow.
The Award of Merit, for the parish which has entered the most events without actually winning any, went to Broadway.
After four years of being overall winners, this year Bretforton had to settle for runners-up position with 161 points, behind champions Evesham Bengeworth with 163.5.
A special Award for Services was made to Ray Day from Wick, who has been involved in the games since their inception in 1978.
