CLUB captain Brian Osborne and Ian Facer were victorious when 28 Evesham Golf Club seniors competed for the Wychavon Cup on a beautiful spring morning.
This better ball Medal competition features drawn partners and lifting the trophy this year were Osborne and Facer with a nett 65.
Mike Abraham and Peter Belcher were second with 70 and Ian Tait and Martin Williams were third with 71.
It has also been a busy inter-club match time for the Evesham seniors, starting with a 6-0 defeat at Tewkesbury Park.
This was followed by a 4-2 defeat at The Vale – a reverse of the scoreline from the recent match at Evesham – with the visitors’ victories coming from Tait and Mike Whiteford and Ian Wood and Jerry Cain, both 1 up.
The next match saw Evesham return to home ground and winning ways with a 3.5-2.5 win over Puckrup featuring wins for Williams and Facer (5&4), Malcolm Boscott and Malcolm Hiscock (1 up) and Tait and Michael Hocking (1 up). Geoff Burton and Whiteford halved their game.
The most recent match brought a 3.5-2.5 defeat at Redditch where there were wins for Abraham and Whiteford (2&1) and Dave Kewley and Steve Deakin (1 up) and a half for Tait and Peter Ratledge.
