EVESHAM Golf Club’s Wychavon Challenge Cup, with its better ball Medal format off three-quarters handicap and the white tees, can pose a few problems for the seniors, but not last Wednesday when men’s vice-captain Brian Osborne and ex-club secretary Jerry Cain stormed to victory with a two under par score of 70.
Hot on their heels – the difference one put can make – were three pairs on 71. With ever decreasing countback settling the placings, second were Dave Kewley/Alan Groves, third were Ian Facer/Martin Williams and fourth were Mike Brumage/Richard Saville.
