Newcomers TDMS are up and running

BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League newcomers The De Montfort School earned their first ever league points with a 2-0 home victory over Stour Excelsior Reserves.

A second half Jones brace gave the youngsters a much-needed boost and moved them off the bottom of Division Three.

Bretforton Old Boys Reserves closed the gap at the top with a 3-0 home win over Pebworth through goals from Staley, Jennings and Greenwood.

Stratford United cruised to a 14-1 success at Avon Titans as Dalloway (4), Davies (3), Horne (2), Drake, Hickman, Dolce, Spilsbury and Michallari found the net.




Ashton 88 were edged out 6-4 by Fortis in a high-scoring game at Badsey in which Wallace (2), Napper, Meynall, Hancox and Rainey scored for Fortis and Begley (2) and James (2) netted for Ashton.

Offenham Rovers won 2-1 at Harvington to go top of Division Two, whilst Badsey Recreation were 7-0 winners at Dragons as Robinson (2), Smith (2), Andrew, Stanley and Benfield got on the scoresheet.


The local derby at Fladbury saw honours shared as hosts Charlton Old Boys scored through Ainsworth and Dickenson and Boother bagged a brace for Cropthorne.

The top three all won convincingly in Division One, including Bretforton Old Boys who gained revenge for a recent cup defeat by thrashing hosts Mickleton Rangers 9-0 through Johns (3), Cooke (2), Schembri (2), Brown and Reeves.

Broadway United hit six without reply to see off visitors Alcester Town as Rich (2), Baylis, Evans, Hopkins and Jason Horsburgh got among the goals.

Evesham WMC thumped visitors Tewkesbury Town 9-1 as goals from Grady (3), Ford (3), Dixon (2) and Iorns did the damage. Davis netted for Town.

In the Evesham Hospital Sunday Junior Cup first round, Inkberrow defeated hosts Cider Mill on penalties after the sides had fought out a 5-5 draw, whilst Stour Excelsior won 3-1 at Pinvin United.

In the Minor Cup first round, Alderton won 8-0 at Bengeworth, Quinton were 5-0 home victors over Evesham United Sunday and Ambi Allsports upset higher graded hosts Bredon 4-2.

The match between Sun Inn and visitors Broadway United Reserves was abandoned after a player suffered a serious injury.
