SIXTY-NINE members of The Vale Golf Club’s seniors section turned out on another fine Monday morning to play a competition new to the group.
With a stableford format in teams of four, all players’ scores counted on par 3s, three on par 4s and two on the par 5s.
The par score of 104 points was only achieved by four groups, the best of which was 108 from winners Andy Jinks, Brian Leggott, Peter Morris and Adrian Duggan.
Runners-up were Bob Evans, Mick Hughes, David Hudson and Larry Taylor with 107, third were John Jarvis, Ray Jakeman, Mel Locke and John Briggs with 104 and fourth were Peter Causer, Mike Coote, Jim Knowles and Geoff Wilson with 104.
Nearest the pin winner was Mike Heard.
On another fine Monday, a turnout of 84 players enjoyed a split sixes format, with nearest the pin being won by a Plus Four-attired Tony Perryman.
Vale seniors are now turning their minds to the new season’s friendly fixtures against other clubs within the area and the summer of forthcoming open events, details of which can be found on the club website at www.thevalegolf.co.uk.
