New-boys Titans savour success

BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League newcomers Avon Titans recorded their first win in Division Three with a 3-0 home victory over Ambi Allsports as second half goals from Reynolds, Deakin and Matonoha-Cooke earned the three points.

Fortis and visitors Stour Excelsior Reserves could not find the net in a goalless draw, whilst the top three teams all won.

Dragons hit eight without reply at Stratford United with goals from Lane (3), Wicks (2), Herball, Jennings and Mayhew, whilst Tom and James Drinkwater and Clifford scored for hosts Quinton in their 3-1 success against Ashton 88 for whom Hunter scored.

Sun Inn were made to work hard for a 3-2 win against visitors Bengeworth. Von-Seckendorff (2) and Parry scored for the Winchcombe hosts and Mason and Kendall netted for Bengeworth.




In Division Two, Harvington showed their promotion credentials with a comfortable 7-1 win at Tesco United in which Woodfield (3), Dallaway, Sanders, Davies and Ferguson scored for the village side and Stevens netted for Tesco.

Alderton were held 3-3 at Charlton Old Boys. Chris Clements scored a hat-trick for the home side and Greaves (2) and Hill were on the mark for Alderton.


Rahman and Marlow were the scorers for hosts Ecosamba in their much-needed 3-1 home win over Cropthorne, whilst Broadway United Reserves took the local honours against visitors Badsey Recreation thanks to goals from Valentin (2) and Varah in a 3-1 victory.

Hosts Tewkesbury Town defeated Mickleton Rangers 3-2 in a tight encounter which saw Sutherland (2) and Buckley score for Town and Collins and Robinson do likewise for Rangers.

Bretforton Old Boys came from behind to maintain their perfect start in Division One with a 4-1 success as goals from Baird (2), Beddoes and Ward secured victory at Cider Mill, who had led at the interval through a Stevens goal.

Champions Evesham WMC defeated visitors Alcester Town 3-1 with goals from Grady (2) and White, with Alcester on the mark through Trotman.

Broadway United recorded an excellent 3-0 win at Inkberrow with second half goals from Hopkins (2) and Hands.

Bear and visitors Jacksons Fairfield drew 4-4 as Matt Staley bagged a hat trick for Bear, whilst Stour Excelsior and visitors Pinvin United drew 3-3 as Stour scored through Johnson, Harris and Mumford and Pinvin netted through Bellamy (2) and Izod.
