MAGGIE McDivitt topped the Division One standings with a superb 35 points in Broadway Golf Club ladies’ Stableford on a mild spring morning when course conditions were perfect.
Sonia Ward was second with an excellent 34 points, ahead of Rhiannon Gadsby-Evans in third with 32.
Division Two was headed by Diana Chambers with a creditable 33 points. She shared the score with June Griffin and Kate Bellamy who clinched second and third positions respectively on countback.
A nine-hole competition was also played in which Barbara Crew earned top spot with a first-rate 16 points, ahead of Margaret Tucker and Alma Harrison who scored 15 points to take second and third positions respectively.
It was then the turn of the juniors at the weekend and what a display of youthful talent there was to be witnessed.
The Ladies Cup, donated to the juniors in 1991 by the Broadway ladies section, was up for grabs and true to form it was Ambrose Eaves who once again produced the performance of the day with a magnificent 49 points to seal a conclusive victory.
Sonny Nangle also did himself proud with a tremendous 45 points to earn a worthy second place, leaving Joe Golding third with an impressive 43 and Curtis Coane a deserved fourth with 38.
