Louis swings into Europe's top ten again

Liam Moakes 5th Jun, 2019

YOUNG Harvington golfer Louis Rickett continued his excellent progress with a ninth-placed finish at the European Junior Golf Championships at Musselburgh Golf Club in Scotland.

It was nine-year-old Louis’ fourth appearance in the championships and the Edinburgh venue brought out some of his best golf as he booked his place at the World Championships.

This is the second time Louis has finished inside the top ten of Europe’s elite junior golfers and there was lots to admire as he battled against more than 80 competitors.

The European Championships, which take place in East Lothian, attract juniors aged five to 18 every year from more than 50 countries worldwide to participate in Europe’s premier junior golf tournament.

The top ten finish has secured Louis’ place in this year’s World Championships which take place at Pinehurst in North Carolina, USA, in August.

Louis has been playing golf since the age of four and has participated in European and world junior golf events since 2015. This is the fourth time he has qualified for the World Championships and he is excited to again be representing the UK in such a prestigious event.

Later this year Louis will be moving house to continue his progression after being awarded a golf scholarship. To check out his progress, visit www.facebook.com/louisrickett.
