PERSHORE Tennis Centre staff are looking forward to using their new floodlights – which they recently added to their existing four outdoor courts – after the current health crisis is over.
Before the coronavirus hit, Pershore Tennis Centre installed new LED floodlighting to one of their outdoor courts helped, in part, from a community development grant from Wychavon District Council and hard-earned fund-raising by the club.
In line with the government’s and Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) guidelines, Pershore Tennis Centre recently closed it courts to help tackle the coronavirus.
However, once the pandemic is over, the club will be able to use the money they raised through fund-raising ventures like their annual quiz to resurface another court as well as add the extra floodlights.
Pershore is one of the most popular clubs in the county and looks forward to encouraging the local community to join in and see for themselves.
It has five all-weather outdoor courts, two with new artificial clay surfaces and three indoor courts with state-of-the-art LED lighting, meaning tennis at Pershore truly is an all-weather, all-year-round sport.
Club chairman Sarah McCormick said: “We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the club when it’s safe to do so.”
