EVESHAM Vale Running Club and Evesham Vale Triathletes ace Lindsey Lewis-Painter maintained her good form with fourth place at the Pitchcroft 10k Worcester County Road Championship.
A strong field of 162 runners lined up on the start line to run around Worcester Racecourse three times.
Windy conditions denied Lewis-Painter a fast time, but she still clocked 43 minutes, one second in an event that is not her forte.
Selena Sweeney, also from Evesham Vale Running Club, produced a great result of 118th place in 53 minutes, 39 seconds after a few months off through injury.
Lewis-Painter also recently finished first in the women’s veteran class at Tewkesbury Sprint Triathlon in May.
Despite a relatively weak swim, she produced a strong cycle ride and was the fastest female runner in 21 minutes, 28 seconds on a mixed terrain course to clinch the title.
Since then she has posted a new personal best time and 45-49 age group record of 20 minutes, 39 seconds in the 5km Evesham Parkrun.
Lewis-Painter, like many others, only took up running to lose weight but is now becoming a seriously competitive age group athlete.
