LIFESAVING ace Alex Jackson returned from Riccione in Italy with a European bronze medal.
Eighteen-year-old Jackson was chosen to represent Great Britain Lifesaving as part of a strong youth team and was the first member of the squad to achieve a medal on the second day of competition with a bronze in his 12m line throw – narrowly missing out on a silver by 0:09 seconds.
The youth team went on to achieve a rack of medals which resulted in a fifth-placed overall finish.
Jackson, who represents South Worcestershire Lifesaving Club, is now back training ready to take part in November’s Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving in Leeds, where he will be representing Wales.
Anyone interested in taking up lifesaving can come along to South Worcestershire Lifesaving Club at Pershore Leisure Centre on Sundays between 5-8pm.
